Google is going out and wifi'ng the town of Mountain View ... old news.
But, a group of nerds and tibetan monks are getting people networked in the town of Dharamshala. Wired has this news item on them, including the monkey proofing they have to work on !

It was suprising to find Internet connectivity in Hanle Valley.The department of science (GOI) has set up a link there...no electricity no fuel no phones! but internet was there!
