Apple's production quality is just insanely good in the way they present the new products. And this year's September event , or, the iPhone and Watch event, were as good as before. I live blogged a few of the things that caught my eye at :
Watching the #AppleEvent

Time to make last years's #iPhone and #AppleWatch obsolete.
A ton of incremental updates to the products were unveiled in the presentation. For me, the 3 most interesting ones to stand out were:
1. Green / Recycled Materials / Carbon Neutral
Many points in the presentation , and indeed an entire skit , were touching upon how Apple products are made up of recycled aluminium or fabrics and how they are achieving their goals of becoming Carbon Neutral. It talks volumes that a huge behemoth like Apple is so serious about the environmental impacts. I hope to see other companies also pick up the slack and work towards these current day issues.
You can read more about it on Apple's Environment page.
2. USBC - Finally!

It brings Apple devices on par with everyone else. For years, the lightning connector has been used, and despite Apple's play on the environment, this just comes across as electronic waste as it cannot be used with anything else apart from Apple devices. Now, we can use the same cables and charges across the devices. My macbook charger will now be able to charge the new iPhones.
3. 3nm chip - that's crazy !
Now this blew me away. Apple's iPhones with the new A17 pro chip are made with the new 3nm technology. To put this in perspective, Intel core i9 chips are with 10nm tech and the AMD chips are 14nm. The iPhone chip is really really small, allowing for denser packing of the circuits and the gates. This packs more performance in a small footprint. Truly remarkable !
